PRISONERS OF WAR.

The man standing on the left-hand corner is Pte.J. GORE, Royal Berks Regiment, 14 Howard Street, Reading.

The centre man sitting is the son of Mrs. Smith, 208, Southampton St., Reading. He served all through the Boer War and after twelve years' service as postman at Newbury enlisted for the present war, being captured in September, 1914.

BRITISH POLICE IN CUSTODY AT DOEBERITZ.

Some of these men show signs of the fierceness of the fray through which they have passed, but on the whole they look well cared for.
